About İztuzu Beach (Turtle Beach)
İztuzu is a narrow, roughly 4.5 km long beach near Dalyan that forms a natural barrier between the Dalyan river delta and the Mediterranean. It is one of the most important loggerhead turtle (Caretta caretta) nesting beaches in the Mediterranean, with around 300 nests counted on average each year. Since 1988 it has been part of the Köyceğiz-Dalyan Special Environmental Protection Area. The beach is reached by road from Dalyan or by boat along the Dalyan river.

Visiting tips
From 1 May to 31 October the beach is closed from 20:00 to 08:00 to protect the turtles, so choose your return time accordingly. Putting up umbrellas and sunbeds or digging in the marked nesting zones is prohibited; please follow the rules.
