About Kemeraltı Bazaar & Clock Tower
Kemeraltı is İzmir's historic bazaar in the Konak district, stretching from the Agora of Smyrna to Konak Square. The Hisar Mosque (1592–1598), the Kızlarağası Han of 1744 and historic synagogues are among its landmarks; the area was added to UNESCO's World Heritage Tentative List in 2020. On Konak Square, on the seaward side of the bazaar, stands the Clock Tower, the symbol of İzmir.

Vehicles cannot enter the bazaar; your driver drops you on the Konak Square side and picks you up from the same point on the way back. Much of the bazaar is closed on Sundays; it is liveliest on weekdays and Saturdays.
