About Upper Düden Waterfall

Upper Düden Waterfall lies in the Kepez district on Antalya's northern side, inside a landscaped park with shady paths, footbridges and picnic areas. The Düden stream, fed by karst springs, drops here over a rock ledge into a green gorge. Its best-known feature is the natural cave directly behind the falls: a path leads through it, so you can look out through the curtain of water. The area is registered as a protected natural site and is about 16 km by road from Antalya Airport. This is the inland, park-style Düden; Lower Düden Waterfall, which falls into the sea at Lara, is a separate site.

Highlights

  • Path through the cave behind the falls
  • View through the curtain of water
  • Shady streamside paths and footbridges
  • Smaller cascades along the Düden stream
  • Picnic areas under the trees

Visiting tips

The paths and steps around the cave are wet from spray and can be slippery, so wear shoes with good grip. Mornings are usually calmer than the middle of the day. It pairs well with Kurşunlu Waterfall or the ancient city of Perge on the same day.

Upper Düden Waterfall transfer: FAQ

How far is Upper Düden Waterfall from my hotel?
By road approximately: Konyaaltı ~15 km (~20 min), Antalya Airport ~16 km (~20 min), Lara ~23 km (~30 min), Belek ~41 km (~40 min), Kemer ~53 km (~45 min), Side ~75 km (~65 min), Alanya ~134 km (~105 min). Times are estimates without traffic and can be longer at peak times in summer.

How much is the transfer, are tickets included?
The price depends on the vehicle class and is per vehicle, not per person; prices by area are in the table on this page, and the exact price for your hotel appears instantly in the booking form. Entrance tickets are not included.

How does the return work, does the driver wait?
The return is planned as a separate transfer: in a return booking you choose the return time and the vehicle comes to pick you up then, so you do not pay for waiting time.

Do you provide child seats?
Yes. Baby and child seats are free; just state the children's ages when booking.

What is the difference between Upper and Lower Düden?
Both are on the Düden stream, but they are separate sites roughly 14 km apart in a straight line. Upper Düden in Kepez is an inland park where you can walk behind the falls; Lower Düden in Lara is where the stream drops about 40 metres from the coastal cliffs straight into the Mediterranean.

Can you walk behind the waterfall?
Yes. A path leads into the natural cave directly behind the falls, from where you look out through the falling water. Expect spray and damp, uneven steps.
