About Bodrum Ancient Theatre

Bodrum Ancient Theatre leans against the southern slope of Göktepe hill, north of ancient Halicarnassus. It is attributed to the reign of the Carian satrap Mausolus in the 4th century BC. Originally seating about 10,000, it was enlarged by the Romans in the 2nd century AD to hold up to 13,000. From the seating, orchestra and stage there are wide views over Bodrum bay, the castle and the marina, and the theatre is still used for concerts and festivals.
