About Tlos Ancient City
Tlos is one of the oldest and largest cities of Lycia, built on a rocky hill on the east side of the Eşen (Xanthos) valley near Yakaköy in Seydikemer. Settlement here is thought to go back more than 4,000 years, and in Hellenistic and Roman times it was one of the six leading cities of the Lycian League. Among the rock tombs on the hillside, the Tomb of Bellerophon stands out with its relief of the hero on the winged horse Pegasus; the well-preserved theatre, stadium, Roman baths and acropolis can also be visited. Saklıkent Gorge is about 4 km away.
